RESERVATION POLICY IN FACULTY RECRUITMENT
The Central Government enacted the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019 (10 of 2019). As provided under Section 3(1) of the Act, reservation of posts in direct recruitment out of the sanctioned strength in the teachers’ cadre shall be to the extent and in the manner as may be specified by the Central Government by notification in the Official Gazette.
In pursuance of the said provision, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education), Government of India, issued Notification No. S.O. 2515(E) dated 12 July 2019, specifying reservation of posts in direct recruitment out of the sanctioned strength in the teachers’ cadre of a Central Educational Institution.

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode implements and follows the above reservation provisions in direct recruitment to posts in the teachers’ cadre, out of the sanctioned strength, in accordance with the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019, the aforesaid Notification, and the Government of India rules, orders, instructions and amendments issued from time to time.
