Scholarships available for the students of the Institute
(1) Offered by the Institute
a. IIMK Merit Scholarship
IIMK Merit Scholarship is awarded to the students of Post Graduate Programmes (PGP, PGPLSM and PGPFIN) first and second year students on the basis of their performance during one academic year, as determined by their CGPA. The number of scholarships awarded is in the ratio of one scholarship for every 20 students in the first and second year
b. IIMK Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA)
IIMK Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) is offered by the Institute and the eligibility criteria are as under;
The student should meet all the above eligibility criteria to apply for IIMK NBFA. Students who are in receipt of more than one scholarship/stipend/grant/assistance must refund all except the one scholarship/stipend/grant/assistance chosen by them.
Based on the financial score obtained during evaluation, a final rank list will be prepared by the Financial Aid Committee (FAC). In case of a tie in financial score, the rank to be finalised based on the Gross annual income (the student with lowest gross annual income will be preferred). The quantum of financial assistance will be finalised by the FAC.
(2) Offered by Central Government
a. Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students
Offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, to the students belonging to SC category based on annual parental income from all sources for the previous financial year. The maximum income limit is Rs.8,00,000/-. The maximum number of scholarship allotted to IIM Kozhikode is 10 (as on date).
b. National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students
Offered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India to the students belonging to ST category, based on annual parental income from all sources for the previous financial year. The maximum income limit is Rs.6,00,000/-. There is no Institute wise/state wise/stream wise ceiling of number of slots.
c. Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS
Offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, to the students belonging to minority communities, who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination. The maximum limit of income for the previous financial year is Rs.2,50,000. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities.
d. Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities
Offered by the Ministry of Empowerment of person with disabilities, Government of India to the students with disabilities of 40% and above and having a valid certificate of disability as prescribed under rules issued by the competent authority-. The maximum limit of income of parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs.8,00,000/-.
e. Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme for the wards of Central Armed Police Forces, Assam Rifles & state police personnel Ministry of Home Affairs:
Offered by Ministry of Home Affairs, to the wards/ widows of CAPFs & AR. APFs & AR personnel died in harness/ election duty, wards or personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Govt. services and Wards of Ex CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry awards. Applicant should have minimum 60% marks in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) i.e. 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent in case of new applicant.
(3) Offered by State Governments
a. Rajarshee Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship:
Offered by the Government of Maharashtra. The applicant should be a domicile of Maharashtra state or should belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka, and also should belong to the Maratha community. The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000/- from all sources.
b. Scholarship Scheme for Govt. of Tamil Nadu:
Offered by Government of Tamil Nadu to the native students belonging to BC/MBC/DNC communities. The maximum limit of income is Rs.2,00,000/-.
(4) Offered by Private Organizations
a. IDFC First Bank MBA Scholarship
Offered by IDFC First Bank to the students who have secured admissions in B-schools on their own merit and whose income of the parents/guardians from all sources should not be more than Rs.6 lakhs per annum can apply for this scholarship. Open for Indian nationals residing in India only. Only students studying in 1st year of 2-year full-time MBA programs at selected MBA/PGDM colleges are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. The scholarship amount is Rs.1 Lakh per student, per academic year.
b. Mirae Asset Foundation (MAF) Scholarship
Offered by Mirae Asset Foundation to the meritorious and Needy students of the first year & second year of PGP whose combined family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs. Scholarship amount of Rs. 5, 00,000/- per student will be awarded on the basis of interview conducted for the shortlisted candidates by the MAF.
c. Aditya Birla Group Scholarship
Offered by Aditya Birla Group. Top 20 students from the first year (selection of students will be based on the criteria laid down by the Aditya Birla group), are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of written test and interview conducted by Aditya Birla Group. The scholarship awardees can continue receiving it in the second year as well if they are among the top 25 students as per the CGPA for the first year. Rs. 1,75,000/- per student is awarded as scholarship per year.
d. OP Jindal Engineering & Management Scholarship (OPJEMS)
Top 10 students from first year and second year of PGP are eligible for apply for this scholarship (selection of students will be based on the criteria laid down by the OP Jindal). Rs.1,50,000/- per student is awarded as scholarship per year.
