SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships to students are offered by IIMK, Central and State Governments as well as private sector organizations.

  1. IIMK Merit Scholarship: IIMK Merit Scholarship is awarded to PGP-I and PGP-II students on the basis of their performance during one academic year, as determined by their CGPA. The number of scholarships awarded is in the ratio of one scholarship for every 20 students in the first and second year.  The student awardees of the scholarship should not have been involved in any act of academic indiscipline or misconduct at any time in the institute.  The IIMK Merit Scholarship will be awarded to PGP-I students in the beginning of the second academic year, and to PGP-II students at the end of the second year.
  2. IIMK Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) : The eligibility criterion for this scholarship is based on annual gross family income for the previous financial year. The maximum income limit is Rs.2,00,000.  Details of this scholarship are given below:

  1. Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for SC Students: Offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, based on annual parental income for the previous financial year.  The maximum income limit is Rs.4,50,000.
  2. Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for ST Students: Offered    by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, based on annual parental income for the previous financial year. The maximum income limit is Rs. 6,00,000.
  3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, to the students belonging to minority communities.  The maximum limit of income for the previous financial year is Rs.2,50,000.
  4. Top Class Education Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: Offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, based on annual parental income for the previous financial year.  The maximum income limit is Rs.6,00,000.
  5. Post–Matric Scholarship under the State Sector Scheme of Government of Karnataka: offered to those eligible students who do not fall under the fixed targets set by Government of India using National Scholarship Portal.
  6. NTPC Scholarship: Offered by NTPC to the students belonging to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped categories.  Selection is done by NTPC from the applications submitted.
  7. Pratibha Scholarship: Offered by Government of Andhra Pradesh to the students belonging to Andhra Pradesh. The maximum annual parental income for applying for this scholarships is Rs.1,00,000.
  8. Rajarshee Sahu Maharaj Scholarship: Offered by Government of Maharashtra to the students belonging to Maharashtra. The maximum parental income for the previous financial year is Rs.2,00,000.
  9. Financial Assistance Scheme: Offered by Government of Odisha to the students belonging to ST community from Odisha State. The maximum parental income for the previous financial year is Rs.2,50,000.
  10.  Post Matric Scholarship: Offered by Government of  Kerala to the students  belonging to SC,OBC and Other Eligible Communities (OEC) from Kerala State.
  11. Uttarakhand Scholarship: Offered by Government of Uttarakhand to the students belonging from the state and admitted to IIMs.
  12. SGGSC Talent Scholarship: Offered by the Societe Generale Global Solution Centre Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore to 1 / 2 students from the first year. Primary selection is done from the lowest income group.  The applicants will have to submit a write up about themselves and attend a personal interview for final selection.
  13. Aditya Birla Group Scholarship: Offered by the Aditya Birla Group.  This is awarded to an academically outstanding student from the first year. Selection is done by the Aditya Birla Group through personal interview conducted for the applicants.
  14. OPJEMS Scholarship: Offered by the OP Jindal Group. Selection is done by the OP Jindal Group through written test and personal interview conducted for the applicants. Top 10 students from the second year based on CGPA for the first year, and top 10 students from the first year based on admission rank are eligible to apply.
  15. Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship: The criteria for selection for the award of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship are: (a) Academically outstanding with consistent academic record, (b) Should be in the top 10% of the batch, (c) Should not have been awarded a full scholarship covering tuition and related fees from other organizations,  (d) Should not be receiving stipend or any other financial assistance, (e) Should not have repeated any course, and (f) should not have been involved in any act of academic indiscipline or misconduct.
  16. Yes Aspire Scholarship: Offered by YES Bank.  This is awarded to an academically outstanding student from the first year. Selection is done by the YES Bank through tests and personal interview conducted for the applicants.
  17. Mirae Asset Foundation (MAF) Scholarship: The MAF offers to fund deserving PGP Students at IIMK to pursue professional education in Management. The MAF scholarship will be given to students of the first and second year of PGP. The scholarship amount would be Rs. 5,00,000/- per student per year.

As per Institute rules, a student cannot avail more than one scholarship/stipend during the same academic year and if he/she is awarded with any other scholarship/stipend over and above the IIMK scholarship (Need Based Financial Assistance) in the same academic year, he/she is required to refund the scholarship awarded by the Institute/or other respective agency.
