The Summer and Final placements at IIM Kozhikode have grown from strength to strength with each passing year. The recruitment drive for the graduating batch commences in the month of January. A lateral placement process provides students with substantial prior work experience, a lateral entry into managerial positions in leading firms. The process starts in December, before the final placement season commences. IIM Kozhikode strived to carve out a niche for itself as India's leading B-School by placing its 20th batch in reputed companies like Deutsche Bank, Altisource, Goldman Sachs, ICICI, BCG, McKinsey & Co., Accenture Strategy, Deloitte Consulting, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, TAS, Aditya Birla Group and many more. Companies across sectors participated in the process and made multiple offers across Finance, Marketing, Operations, Consulting, General Management, IT and HR verticals. A number of new companies hired from IIMK resulting in an increased number of first-time recruiters. These include companies such as Arthur D Little, Aspect Ratio, Avendus Capital, Casio, Cedar Consulting, DHFL, GMR, Madura Coats, Shapoorji Pallonji Group and United Health Group. Students with relevant work experience were extended offers of senior managerial roles. Over 81 Pre Placement Offers were secured by students across verticals. Industry stalwarts like Airtel, Asian Paints, Colgate Palmolive, EY, HUL, ITC, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Microsoft, Reckitt Benckiser preferred the PPO route.

IIMK continued the upward climb and added new companies to its recruiter list. Alongside the regular recruiters Avendus Capital, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Goldman Sachs, Altisource, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse companies like Piramal Group, Standard Chartered IGP, TATA Asset Management came back after a hiatus. The Indian banks aggressively hired the best talent from IIMK for several financial institutions like SBI, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, ICRA. The roles offered ranged across Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Risk Management and Investment Banking.
IIMK once again established itself as the haven for both FMCG and B2B marketing firms. While HUL, ITC, PepsiCo and RB led the FMCG cluster; 3M, Asian Paints, Idea led the B2B and service marketing verticals. Renowned brands like Casio, CCD and Hindware. In the broader marketing domain, firms like J&J, Godrej, GSK Pharma, Lenovo, Pidilite participated in the placements process.
Tata Communications chose IIMK as a preferred recruitment ground and gave offers to 9 students, the highest across any IIM. Besides TAS, Reliance Industries Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra, Saint Gobain, Aditya Birla Group, Novartis offered roles in General Management. Prime consulting firms such as McKinsey, BCG, Arthur D Little, EY, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, Cognizant Business Consulting, Wipro Consulting Services also participated in the placements process.
The relationship between IIM Kozhikode and renowned IT firms has been cordial throughout with 21 companies visiting the campus this year. Google, Microsoft, Citrix, Microland, American Express, Capgemini, TCS and Wipro were some of the prestigious IT recruiters to have participated in the recruitment drive. Apart from the marquee recruiters, companies such as HUL, Bank of America, Standard Chartered, Shell and PwC also opened IT roles for the students.
With the advent of technology, IIM Kozhikode also saw booming E-commerce firms like Amazon, Moglix, Flipkart and eBay recruited from IIM Kozhikode for the first time opening new doors of opportunities in a sunrise sector.
Amazon, Asian Paints, Citi, Cipla, L&T, RPG, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Shell and Uber have been favorites in recruitment for operations based roles in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics and Service delivery. Citi continued to recruit in good numbers for their Operations and Technology domain.
Our relationship with the Public Sector Companies has been strong and Behemoths like Bharat Petroleum, IOCL, HPCL, SBI among others have been regular recruiters. IIMK has also seen several entrepreneurial ventures and SMEs recruiting students who believe in treading the less known path, venturing into unchartered territories, with their willingness to experiment.
