Over 300 students and faculty members of the beneficiary colleges took part in the event. Every institute received 500 books each, worth ?2.5 lakh and covered a vast spectrum of academic subjects like economics, management, accounting, commerce, marketing, operations research, quantitative methods, organisational behaviour, human resource management, business ethics, information technology and literature.
Announcing the distinctive association, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK, said “Innovation and entrepreneurship are the buzz words around which the history of 21st century will be scripted. Entrepreneurship has always been a gendered phenomenon, with a far lesser number of women choosing it as a road to empowerment. IIMK is a pioneer in gender diversity and we strongly believe that collaborations such as these will change the status quo and unleash the untapped potential of women entrepreneurs. It is now time to nurture women with entrepreneurship ambitions and develop the skills and perspectives that will help them set up and run sustainable businesses to make the world a better place.”
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) and African Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote and collaborate in research, consultancy, technical and knowledge support in promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development practices in the 33 member-AARDO, which includes 31 countries in the Asian-African region.
Swiss Ambassador to India Ralf Heckner, has said that India is an important strategic partner for Switzerland in the digital era. “India is an incredible hub of innovation and Switzerland looks forward to collaborating with India to promote scientific research, academic and technical cooperation to the next level driven by Indian innovation, which is gaining rapid global appreciation,” Dr. Heckner, said during an interaction with researchers and faculty members of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) here recently.
The IIM-K’s Kochi campus will collaborate with the leading training institute of the Navy to seek the cooperation from the best in the industry and higher education sector to improve the Navy’s training practices, to achieve excellence and to enhance contemporary learning skills of the defence participants. It also brings with it an opportunity for NIETT faculty and selected Naval officers to participate and train in suitable management programmes at IIM-K. The term of the MoU is initially for a three-year period with a provision for extension.
