Swiss Ambassador to India Ralf Heckner, has said that India is an important strategic partner for Switzerland in the digital era. “India is an incredible hub of innovation and Switzerland looks forward to collaborating with India to promote scientific research, academic and technical cooperation to the next level driven by Indian innovation, which is gaining rapid global appreciation,” Dr. Heckner, said during an interaction with researchers and faculty members of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) here recently.
The IIM-K’s Kochi campus will collaborate with the leading training institute of the Navy to seek the cooperation from the best in the industry and higher education sector to improve the Navy’s training practices, to achieve excellence and to enhance contemporary learning skills of the defence participants. It also brings with it an opportunity for NIETT faculty and selected Naval officers to participate and train in suitable management programmes at IIM-K. The term of the MoU is initially for a three-year period with a provision for extension.
Delivering the convocation address, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan stressed the role the higher education institutions should play in preparing for knowledge dissemination that an uncertain future might require. “Institutions are marketplaces of ideas that train young minds through robust experience and prepare students for the journey ahead in pursuit of excellence, guided by reason and informed choice,” he observed.
The Silver jubilee celebrations of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode(IIM-K) will conclude with 24th annual convocation scheduled on April 9.
Making the marquee event even more special, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will deliver the convocation address to the graduating batches. A. Vellayan, Chairperson, IIMK Board of Governors, and Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-K, will also be present.
