The Indian Institute of Management Jammu is privileged to host the 26th IIM Libraries Consortium Meet from September 24–26, 2025, at its Jagti campus in the Vedanta MDP Block. The three-day event, organized by the Nalanda Library of IIM Jammu, brings together librarians from 21 IIMs along with leading national and international publishers, vendors, and service providers. The IIM Libraries Consortium meet serves as a platform for sharing best practices, collaborative discussions, and presentations on innovative products and services. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.
We humans live in the shadow of secrets. We spend half our lives collecting secrets and the other half leaking them, even if accidentally. If Truth is supposed to set us free, then secrets are the locks we have the keys to—“Ah, no one knows what I know!” It is the ego’s favourite pastime.
WITH THE RELEASE of the NIRF 2025 rankings — the National Institutional Ranking Framework — India’s higher education discourse has been stirred. While many celebrate the visibility it offers to institutions, others express disbelief at certain ‘wins’, and some question the credibility of parameters such as ‘perception’ which often feel imprecise or ineffectively captured. Yet, despite its limitations, the NIRF remains one of the few frameworks that allows every university in India to see itself in the mirror. Paid rating agencies rarely provide that opportunity, especially to publicly-funded or smaller institutions.
