Commenting on the achievement, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode, said: “Moving 15 places to #54 in the Financial Times Masters in Management Rankings is a significant step forward in IIM Kozhikode’s global journey. But rankings are meaningful only when they reflect what truly matters—our students’ growth, their career aspirations, diversity in the classroom, and our responsibility towards a sustainable future. Our progress in ESG and Net Zero Teaching, Career Services and gender diversity is particularly encouraging. These are not isolated achievements; they represent our continuing effort to create a learning ecosystem that combines excellence with inclusion, purpose and global relevance. As IIM Kozhikode moves closer to the global Top-50, our ambition remains clear—to build an institution that is globally benchmarked, deeply rooted in Indian thought, and committed to creating leaders for a changing world.”
Strong Gains in Sustainability and Career Services
IIM Kozhikode recorded a notable 14-place improvement in ESG & Net Zero Teaching, rising from 66th globally in 2025 to 52nd in 2026. The improvement reflects the Institute’s growing emphasis on integrating sustainability and responsible management into management education.
The Institute also ranked an impressive 23rd globally in Career Services, significantly ahead of its overall global ranking. The performance underscores IIMK’s strong focus on preparing students for meaningful careers and supporting their professional development and progression.
A Global Leader in Gender Diversity
IIM Kozhikode continues to demonstrate exceptional gender diversity, with women constituting 55% of the student cohort. This places IIMK at approximately 14th globally in female student representation and first among Indian institutions featured in the FT MiM 2026.
The achievement reinforces IIMK’s continued commitment to building an inclusive learning environment that brings together diverse perspectives, experiences and aspirations.
A Stronger Global Position
IIM Kozhikode’s rise to #54 globally follows its continued strong performance across national and international rankings and reinforces its position as one of India’s leading management institutions with an expanding global footprint.
The Institute’s performance in the FT MiM Rankings 2026 demonstrates that its strengths extend well beyond its overall ranking, with particularly strong outcomes in Career Services (#23), ESG & Net Zero Teaching (#52), and female student representation (approximately #14 globally).
The latest achievement further strengthens IIMK’s journey towards becoming a globally recognised institution for management education, research and leadership development.
