Bangladesh Industry Bodies: BCE-CCCI & IIMK Ink Historic Tripartite Knowledge Cooperation MoU

Taking a major international leap in expanding its knowledge-sharing horizon, the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has entered into a tripartite ‘Knowledge Cooperation’ agreement with the Bangladesh Center of Excellence (BCE) and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), conducted in hybrid mode at CCCI headquarters. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a first comprehensive Knowledge Sharing partnership between two such institutions, was attended by Dr Rajeev Ranjan (IFS), Assistant High Commissioner, India in Chittagong, Ministry of External Affairs (Govt. of India) and was signed between Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK and Mr Mahbubul Alam, President, CCCI.

Referring to the ever strengthening transformational relationship between India and Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s of the respective countries Special Guest Dr. Ranjan (IFS), said that “India and Bangladesh share a unique transformational relationship with inter linkages in language, culture and shared history. It’s inspiring to see IIM Kozhikode & CCCI the two organizations of India & Bangladesh share such great synergy and common purpose. And we are happy that IIMK with its world class academic offerings and training program will be at the forefront of implementing this historic agreement and further strengthen the ties of friendship between the two neighboring countries.”

Joining the Signing Ceremony virtually from Kozhikode, Prof. Chatterjee, termed the coming together of the three institutions as ‘historic’ and added “This collaboration, going forward, will deliver exceptional values and endure beyond period to script new chapters in India – Bangladesh relations. Similar to 2041 aspirations of Bangladesh, we too have a Vision 2047 for IIM Kozhikode where we will aspiring to not just be best in the world, but also best for the world. We hope the next generation industry leaders will immensely benefit from this association.”

Terming India – Bangladesh as text book example of brotherhood and friendship and expressing his happiness for associating with India’s top management school brand IIMK, Mr Alam, President CCCI said “Need for enhancing managerial capacities of our business leaders and managers is integral to realizing the Vision 2041 of the Govt. of Bangladesh. Knowledge capacity development tie up with one of the leading management Institutions in India, IIM Kozhikode, will not only open up best knowledge and training resource for our budding leaders but will also greatly complement our growing relationship with India.”

Mr. Syed M Tanvir, Vice President, CCCI and Treasurer Executive Committee Bangladesh Center of Excellence who has played instrumental role from the part of Bangladesh in making this MoU signing a reality, said the goal of the BCE-CCCI-IIMK Knowledge Cooperation initiative is to co-organize Workshops, Seminar, Webinars, Training & Academic courses of different length for the Bangladeshi professionals via both online & offline platform both in Bangladesh or India or anywhere else as mutually agreed.

Among others Mr. Ahid Siraj Chy (Director, CCCI), Mr. Anjan Shekhar Das (Director, CCCI), Mr. Omar Faruque (Director, CCCI), Mr. Iftekhar Hosen (Director, CCCI), Mr. Md. Adnanul Islam (Director, CCCI), Prof. G Sridhar (Dean Executive Education, IIMK), Prof. Surya Prakash Pati (Chairperson MDP, IIMK) were also present for the Signing in Ceremony.
