CFA Research Challenge - National Finale

CFA Research Challenge - National Finale: CFA Society India, in association with the CFA Institute hosted the National Finale for CFA Research Challenge, the India Chapter on 9th February, 2019. The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual, global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students work in teams to research and analyze a publicly traded company and then write a research report on their assigned company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. Each Research Challenge season leverages the efforts of over 140 CFA member societies, 3,500 member volunteers, and more than 5,000 students from over 1,000 universities.

The team from IIM Kozhikode (under the guidance of the faculty mentor of Aravind Sampath and industry mentor Sathanbabu Mathankumar) emerged as the National Winners, and will advance to Sydney, Australia for the Asia-Pacific Round of this challenge. Winners of this Asia-Pacific Round would then advance to New York for the Global Finale. Last year the Global Finale was judged by Warren Buffet in New York. The team from IIMK consists of 5 members - Aravind M, Hardik Shah, Nikunj Manpuria, Prannav Shrinivasan & Shyam Dahiwal.

Apart from the team from IIM Kozhikode, teams from IIM Trichy and IIFT Delhi have also made it to the APAC Round as joint winners.
