  • IIM Kozhikode is ranked ahead of European Business Schools such as Bologna Business School (Italy), Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (Netherlands), Nottingham Business School at NTU from United Kingdom (UK) and ZHAW School of Management and Law (Switzerland).

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has gained two spots to be placed Rank #70 globally in the latest edition of Financial Times (FT) Open-enrolment Executive Education Rankings 2024. The Institute had made its global debut in these prestigious ranking at #72 in the 2023 edition, last year. The improved showing has consolidated the 28-years young IIM’s entry in to an exclusive list of foremost providers of executive education in the world. This showing comes in the back of the Institute leapfrogging 100 spots to be placed in the Top 151-200 Institutes in Business & Management Studies globally, in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2024, released in April, 2024.

IIM Kozhikode is 4th among the 5 Indian B-Schools to feature in the top 80 FT Open-Enrolment Executive Education Rankings 2024. The open-enrolment ranking is compiled using data from course providers and individuals who completed their nominated management programmes in 2023.  Responses by advanced and general-level participants are combined to calculate the first eight ranking criteria. These criteria, which include the quality of the participants, teaching and relevance of the skills they gained, inform 80 per cent of the ranking. School data is used to calculate the remaining criteria on female and international participants, growth, international location, partner schools and faculty diversity.

The weighting accorded to the first eight criteria, from preparation to aims achieved, accounts for 80 per cent of the total ranking’s weight. It is determined by the level of importance that participants attach to each category. Figures in brackets show the weight each criterion contributes to the overall ranking. Preparation (9.5), Course Design (10.3), Teaching methods (10.1), Faculty (10.5), Quality of peers (9.7), New Skills and Learning (10.6), Follow-up (9.0) and Aims Achieved (10.3). The next six mandated criteria were based on data submitted by the business schools: Female participants (2.0), International participants (3.0), International location (2.0), Growth (5.0), Partner schools (3.0) and Faculty diversity (5.0).

Expressing his delight over the achievement, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode, added, “This remarkable achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment, relentless efforts, and exceptional talent within our IIMK community. Our improved ranking is not just a number; it reflects our consistent pursuit of excellence in executive education, innovative research, and the holistic development of our students and participants. This milestone is also a collective victory for IIMK fraternity and a stepping stone towards our vision of becoming a global leader in management education. It reaffirms our commitment to fostering an environment of continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusivity.”
