About Us

As a country, India has committed to mitigate the competing demands of economy and ecology by way of achieving Net Zero by 2070. In order for India to achieve this target, it requires both a cultural and a structural transformation. As a society, we need to change the way we view nature in relation to human existence and we need to change the way we generate and transmit energy, the way we use that energy to procure raw materials, process raw materials into finished goods and services and market those finished goods and services to consumers.

The mission of the India-Japan Centre on Climate and Culture (IJCCC) is to evangelize the common cultural traits emanating from the Eastern Thought - represented by India and Japan - and to collaborate with communities, businesses and policymakers to help India adopt the technologies, practices and policies to bring about the cultural and structural transformation that the country requires in order to reach its goal of being Net Zero by 2070
