ABOUT IIMK

Established in 1996 as the fifth Indian Institute of Management (IIM) by the Government of India, IIM Kozhikode commenced its academic journey in 1997 with its flagship Postgraduate Programme (PGP). Today, the Institute is on a high-growth trajectory, offering one of the widest portfolios of management education in the country. Its academic offerings include the Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD), Executive Postgraduate Programmes, Management Development Programmes, and Faculty Development Programmes. In 2013, IIM Kozhikode set up a dedicated Satellite Campus for Executive Education at Infopark, Kochi. The Institute holds the distinction of launching India’s first PhD (Practice Track) programme for working professionals, and has introduced innovative programmes such as the one-year Postgraduate Programme in Business Leadership (2019), MBA in Finance and MBA in Liberal Studies & Management (2020). In 2025, IIMK further expanded its portfolio by launching a unique four-year full-time undergraduate programme – the Bachelor of Management Studies. The Institute is also home to pioneering initiatives such as IIMK LIVE, a first-of-its-kind startup incubation centre, the Indian Business Museum, and seven Centres of Excellence spanning diverse domains. IIM Kozhikode is consistently ranked among the top business schools in India and abroad. It was ranked 3rd in the NIRF India Rankings 2024 (Management). Globally, it debuted in the QS World University Rankings 2020/21 for its flagship MBA and EMBA programmes. In 2023, IIM Kozhikode entered the Top 100 of the Financial Times (FT) Global Rankings for Masters in Management (MBA), and advanced nine spots in 2024 to achieve rank #68. It also secured the #70 global position in the FT Open Enrolment Programme Rankings 2024. IIM Kozhikode holds prestigious global accreditations from EQUIS (EFMD) and AMBA (UK), underscoring its international standards in management education and research.
