Manish Sarkhel
Assistant Professor, IIM Sirmaur
I am an Assistant Professor at IIM Sirmaur, specializing in Operations Management and Analytics. I completed my PhD from the Department of Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques at IIM Indore. Before joining IIM Sirmaur, I was a faculty member at XIMB, TAPMI, and Woxsen University, Hyderabad, and also served as a visiting professor at IIM Amritsar.
Currently, I serve as the Co-Chair of Student Affairs and Co-Chairperson of the PGPEX LSM (Leadership in Smart Manufacturing) Programme, a joint initiative by IIM Sirmaur and RWTH Aachen Intl. Academy, Germany. My teaching portfolio includes courses such as Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Intelligence and Data Mining, Service Operations, Project Management, and Data Analytics using Python, R, and Tableau.
My research interests span Game Theory, Artificial Intelligence, Non-linear Programming, and Manufacturing Networks. Before my PhD, I worked in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction industry, gaining hands-on experience in the automation and operation of material handling units in steel production plants. I am also active in consulting, having worked with government bodies and pharma companies in areas like Traffic Management, Energy Management, and Analytics.
