I am a Professor at the University of Hyogo, Graduate School of Information Science in Kobe, Japan. My academic background is in theoretical physics, having earned my Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. My research focuses on complex economic systems, including Pareto-Zipf’s law, firm growth and failure, economic networks, production networks, and banks-firms credit networks.
Throughout my career, I have held various academic positions, including senior researcher roles at ATR (Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International) Laboratories and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). I have also served as a lecturer at Kyoto University and as a visiting researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy.
I have co-authored several books exploring the intersection of econophysics and economic networks, including Macro-Econophysics: New Studies on Economic Networks and Synchronization (Cambridge University Press, 2017) and Econophysics of Corporations: Statistical Life and Death in Complex Business Networks (Cambridge University Press, 2010).
Here is the abstract of the paper I am presenting at the conference
