Joint Commissioner, Customs
I am Ashwin John George, currently serving as the Joint Commissioner at the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Custom House, Willingdon Island, Cochin, Kerala. In this role, I oversee various administrative, legal, and enforcement functions critical to the smooth operation of customs activities in the region. My responsibilities extend across multiple domains, including Legal and Prosecution, Internal Audit, Vigilance, Technical and Statistics, Customs Intelligence, and Revenue Recovery.
Additionally, I manage key initiatives such as the Review Cell, Staff Welfare, Government e-Marketplace (GEM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Sports and Cultural Cell. As the Appellate Authority under the Right to Information Act, 2005, I ensure transparency and accountability in customs-related matters.
With a strong commitment to efficiency and compliance, I work closely with my team to streamline customs processes, enhance security, and facilitate trade. My focus remains on upholding the integrity of customs operations while fostering a transparent and responsive administrative environment.
