This unique programme is useful for young teachers who have opted for a career as a management academic. This programme is quite rigorous and the participants are expected to devote 12 - 16 hours of work everyday for making use of the programme contents. The programme is meant only for serious participants who are interested in enhancing their academic and/or research skills. Certificates of completion will be issued only to those participants who successfully complete the programme.
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of this programme is to provide an in depth understanding of modern pedagogical tools and research methods necessary for a management academic to the young management teachers in the AICTE recognized institutions. Being offered by the leader in the IT based management education in the country, the Programme also provides an intensive training for the participants in e-Learning methodologies relevant for management education. The programme provide training in case study based teaching and provides deeper understanding of research issues in the growing field of management. An understanding of the academic environment, research funding avenues etc., are also provided as a part of the programme.
COVERAGE
There will be four modules for the programme. These included:
Academic Environment Module - This covers the topics ranging from the regulatory environment, role of Government and Private funding agencies to economic environment and challenges to the management education.
Management Pedagogy Module - A detailed coverage of modern management pedagogical tools with special emphasis on the Case study method is provided in this module. The participants are expected to prepare a case study as a part of the course.
Management Research Training - An in depth analysis of the research tools, both quantitative as well as qualitative, will be covered in this module. The module also provides insights into the various research issues in various fields of management and provides an exposure to frontier methods in management practice. Participants are expected to prepare a research proposal as a part of this module.
E-Learning Module - Training on on-line, synchronous and asynchronous models of education including use of CBTs, WBTs and Learning Management Systems will be provided as a part of this module. The module will have on-the-hand training in the sophisticated multimedia studio in IIMK campus. Participants are expected to create a course module for web based delivery as a part of this module.

DATE & VENUE
This programme will be held during March 09 - 28, 2009 at IIMK Campus, Kunnamangalam, Calicut. Accommodation will be provided on a twin sharing basis in the IIMK Guest Houses.
LAST DATE
Nomination forms duly endorsed by the Head of the Institution along with DD should reach the FDP Office latest by 24th February 2009 . The acceptance will be communicated by 26th February 2009 by e-mail. DD will be returned to those who are not selected for the programme. |
